Pedro has been a lawyer since 1993, working first at Uría Menéndez and from 1996 at García Añoveros & Pérez-Llorca, a law firm founded by his father and at which Pedro was first an associate, then partner and finally senior partner. The Firm, which for a number of years has gone under the name of PEREZ-LLORCA, currently has more than one hundred and forty professionals, including twenty two partners. It is considered to be one of the law firms of reference in Spain by international directories. In 2006, PEREZ-LLORCA won the Chambers and Partners award for “Iberian Law Firm of the Year”, which recognised them as the best law firm in the Iberian Peninsula.
Career
Pedro’s professional experience as a lawyer focuses on the field of mergers and acquisitions. He has taken part in some of the most important cross-border transactions with a Spanish involvement. He advised Abbey National on their acquisition by Banco Santander (2004); Autogrill (Benetton Group) on their acquisition of Aldeasa (2005-2008); PAI Partners on their acquisition, together with other funds, of Cortefiel (2005); E.ON on the tender offer procedure for the acquisition of Endesa (2006-2007) and on the acquisition of Viesgo and other Endesa assets in Spain, Italy, France, Poland and Turkey (2008); CVC on their acquisition, together with ACS, of 25% in Abertis (2010) and Banco Pastor on their acquisition by Banco Popular (2011).
In 2007, Pedro received the award “40 under 40: Best Lawyer at a Law Firm” from Iberian Lawyer, which recognised him as the best lawyer under 40 years old at a law firm.
Pedro has lectured at various academic and professional institutions, including the Instituto de Empresa, the Madrid Bar Association, and the Francisco de Vitoria University on matters related to Corporate Law.
His working languages are Spanish and English but he also reads and understands French, German and Italian.
Married to Marina Íñiguez Blanco. They have two daughters.
