Experience

Alberto has more than 25 years’ experience advising mining and petroleum investors, having participated in large scale mergers and acquisitions in those sectors and represented companies in the development of important projects in Peru.

His wide-ranging practice covers from the analysis, evaluation and design of the structures for the acquisition of projects, companies and businesses, to the implementation and defense of the investments; and his international experience includes advising from London in the project financing of mines in Spain, Mexico and Finland.

He regularly leads teams dedicated to managing the land access required for projects in the extractive industries and the development of infrastructure, as well as consultancy on socioenvironmental matters in his areas of expertise.

With a background as a corporate lawyer and focus on natural resources and infrastructure projects, he has also occasionally advised private investors interested in the development of ports, forestry and agribusiness projects.

 Academic and Publishing Collaborations

He has been a professor of the Mining Law course at the Universidad de Piura from 2010 to 2019; professor of the Comparative Mining Law course in the Postgraduate School of the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas in 2012; and professor of the Investment and Financing of Natural Resources Projects course in the Natural Resources Law Postgraduate Program at the Universidad de Lima in 2007.

He is the author of several articles published in specialized publications.
