Profile

Mauricio Raffo has extensive professional experience in complex disputes, both domestic and international. He has advised multinational companies in more than 120 international and domestic arbitrations, as well as in over 500 judicial proceedings.

Experience

Mauricio has significant experience in both international and domestic arbitration, particularly in commercial and investment protection matters. At the international level, he has participated in major arbitrations administered under the rules of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) and the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), involving investment protection, concessions, infrastructure projects, construction, commercial contracts, among other matters. At the domestic level, he has participated in complex arbitrations administered by Peru’s leading arbitration centers, including the Cámara de Comercio de Lima (CCL), the Cámara de Comercio Americana (AMCHAM), and the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP). These disputes have involved construction, infrastructure projects, energy, mining, insurance, corporate law, and other areas. Mauricio also has extensive experience in civil, commercial, constitutional, and administrative litigation. He has advised major companies in disputes involving energy, banking, and environmental regulatory matters, as well as contractual and tort liability issues, including the annulment of domestic arbitral awards and the recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards.

Academic and Publishing Collaborations

He has served as a professor of Civil Procedure and Dispute Resolution at Universidad de Lima, Universidad del Pacífico, Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, and Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas. He has also participated as a speaker and panelist at numerous conferences and professional events in Peru and abroad. In addition, he regularly contributes articles to specialized legal journals.
