Maria Gabriela focuses her practice on litigation and arbitration, with a focus on the defense of complex disputes in civil and administrative law matters. She advises clients on the strategic management of disputes, with particular attention to risk anticipation and decision-making in highly complex scenarios.

She has a solid background focused on dispute prevention, which allows her to approach controversies from a strategic and comprehensive perspective, both in contentious settings and at pre-dispute stages.

Experience

Maria Gabriela joined the Firm in 2023 and has prior experience at national law firms, practicing as a licensed attorney since 2020. She has developed her practice advising on administrative proceedings, judicial proceedings, and arbitration, participating in the structuring of defense strategies in civil and administrative litigation matters.

She has experience in civil litigation matters (including tort liability, contractual nullity, contractual disputes, succession law, property rights, corporate disputes, insurance, among others), as well as in representing clients in administrative proceedings and judicial processes across sectors such as telecommunications, mining, energy, consumer protection, healthcare and public utilities.

In the arbitration field, she focuses on commercial arbitration and government procurement. She has participated in domestic arbitrations, both ad hoc and institutional, administered by the Arbitration Center of the Lima Chamber of Commerce (CCL), the PUCP Arbitration and Dispute Resolution Center (CARC PUCP), and the AmCham Peru International Arbitration Center (AmCham), participating in all stages, including the post-award phase through award annulment proceedings and enforcement proceedings.

She also has experience in the management of disputes at the pre-contentious stage and in conducting negotiations, as well as in designing strategies aimed at reducing contingencies and preventing legal risks.

Academic and Publishing Collaborations

She has participated in academic activities and specialized events in Civil Law and Civil Procedural Law.

She is the author of several publications in Civil Procedural Law and Evidence Law, including:

  • “Digital Evidence in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Authenticity, Admissibility and Evidentiary Assessment” (2026, forthcoming publication).
  • “Online Social Media Interactions as Evidence: Challenges of Electronic Evidence in Judicial Proceedings”, co-authored with Roberto Pérez-Prieto, in Foro Académico, Digital Evidence: Problems and Challenges in Judicial Proceedings, 2022, pp. 291–305.

In the academic field, she has served as a teaching assistant in the courses “Theory of Evidence” and “Typical Means of Evidence,” as well as an assistant in the course “Property Law,” at the Law School of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú.

She is also an extraordinary member of the IUS ET VERITAS Association of the Law School of the same university.
