Miranda & Amado and Pérez-Llorca have successfully completed their merger, announced in May, following approval by the partners’ meetings and governing bodies of both firms. This marks a milestone for the legal market, bringing together two leading firms in their respective jurisdictions into a single, fully integrated platform and a market leader in the Ibero-American region.
Pérez-Llorca will have around 1,300 professionals and offices in Barcelona, Bogotá, Brussels, Lima, Lisbon, London, Madrid, Medellín, Mexico City, Monterrey, New York and Singapore, as well as Abu Dhabi, where the firm’s recent opening makes Pérez-Llorca the first Ibero-American law firm to have a physical presence in this international financial centre.
Miranda & Amado has grown by 30% over the past four years, while Pérez-Llorca has grown by more than 87% over the same period. Following the merger, Pérez-Llorca’s global pro forma sales for the last twelve months are expected to reach approximately $280 million.
The integration strengthens Pérez-Llorca’s ability to advise sovereign wealth funds, institutional investors, financial institutions, large corporations and international law firms on their major transactions, financing, international litigation and arbitration, as well as on their most complex and strategic regulatory matters, linking Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America.
The Lima office will be fully integrated into Pérez-Llorca’s structure, governance and operating model. Peruvian partners will join Pérez-Llorca’s governing bodies and take on leadership roles in key international practices, while day-to-day management in the country will be overseen by an Executive Committee comprising local partners.
Furthermore, during a transitional period, the firm will operate in the Peruvian market under the name Pérez-Llorca, Miranda & Amado before adopting the brand name Pérez-Llorca Perú.
Pedro Pérez-Llorca, Senior Partner at Pérez-Llorca, stated: “The merger with Miranda & Amado represents a decisive step in our international strategy. We have built a unique platform to support our clients across the main investment corridors between Europe and Latin America, and we are strengthening our ability to link this axis with some of the world’s most important financial centres, including Asia and the Middle East. Our aim is to be the leading firm for the most sophisticated transactions and matters in the Ibero-American region.”
Iván Delgado, Pérez-Llorca’s International Executive Partner, added: “The merger with Miranda & Amado and the opening in Abu Dhabi are complementary milestones within the same project. We want to have a presence both in markets that generate capital and in those that offer the best investment and growth opportunities. This combination enables us to connect international investors with strategic projects in Europe and Latin America via a single, integrated platform.”
Luis Miranda, Founding Partner of Miranda & Amado, said: “This integration combines Miranda & Amado’s leadership and local expertise with a world-class international platform. We share a common vision of excellence, ambition and client service, and we are convinced that this partnership will enable us to offer distinctive advice to companies and investors who are increasingly operating beyond their traditional markets.”
