She joined the Firm in 2017 and has focused on health and sanitary regulatory matters, as well as intellectual property. 

As a member of the Intellectual Property & Competition Practice Group, her regulatory advisory work is centered on assisting national and international companies in Life Sciences and related legislation, particularly in the pharmaceutical sector, cannabis industry, medical devices, cosmetics and hygiene products, biomedical equipment, among others. 

Andrea also coordinates client relationships and manages procedures related to Sanitary Registrations, Sanitary Notifications, Health Permits, and homologations before the relevant health authorities in Colombia and abroad, through foreign correspondents. She also supports all M&A transactions concerning regulatory aspects within her area of expertise.

Experience 

With over 25 years of experience in intellectual property and regulatory affairs, Andrea has built a distinguished career providing legal support to companies in the pharmaceutical, food, cosmetic, and healthcare sectors. She began her career in public and private entities in the commercial and industrial sectors, including international organizations and consulting firms. She later worked for nearly two decades at a renowned intellectual property firm and held legal leadership positions in the business sector, including serving as Legal Director and General Secretary of a major food company. Since 2017, she has been part of Gómez-Pinzón, where she is currently a Senior Associate in the Intellectual Property team. She has led regulatory and sanitary advisory services for companies such as Glenmark, PriceSmart, Drypers, and various firms in the health and food sectors, including the implementation of biosafety protocols. Her comprehensive understanding of the regulatory framework allows her to provide sound legal solutions tailored to the needs of highly regulated industries.
