Profile 

Mónica joined the Firm in 2021. She is a lawyer and a specialist in commercial law, with over five years of professional experience in commercial and corporate law. She is currently part of the Corporate, Mergers & Acquisitions Practice Group, with a focus on education law. 

Studies: 

• Master’s in Private Law, Person and Society, with an emphasis on Contractual and Extra-contractual Liability, Civil and State, Universidad Externado de Colombia.
• Specialization in Commercial Law, Universidad Externado de Colombia.
• Law Degree, Universidad Externado de Colombia.

She speaks Spanish and English.  

Experience 

Mónica began her career in prominent law firms in the country and also worked as an in-house counsel, which provided her with a deep understanding of companies’ internal needs. Since 2021, she has been part of Gómez-Pinzón, where she currently serves as a Senior Associate in the Corporate, Mergers & Acquisitions Practice Group. She has participated in business reorganization processes, M&A transactions, and business structuring matters, as well as in cases with constitutional implications—such as representing a business group in a public action of unconstitutionality against an article of the most recent tax reform, brought before the Constitutional Court.
