Profile
Since beginning her professional practice in 2003, Carolina has focused her work on tax advisory related to estate and wealth tax planning for families, as well as tax planning and structuring of projects, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate reorganizations at both national and international levels, including international asset protection mechanisms, with a special emphasis on startups and entrepreneurial ventures. Additionally, Carolina has extensive experience in tax matters applicable to nonprofit organizations.

Experience
Carolina began her professional career in the legal department of a real estate company and later served as Director of the Legal Analysis Department at the Colombian Institute of Tax Law. She also held the position of Tax Planning and Risk Management Manager at Avianca, an experience that enabled her to develop a comprehensive and strategic view of her clients’ tax needs. In 2015, she joined Pérez-Llorca and, since 2022, has been a partner in the Tax Law practice, providing practical and effective advice to both national and international companies.
She has led tax planning and corporate reorganization processes for companies such as Guirnaldas, Agroince, and Bavaria, as well as the tax structuring of projects for transportation and infrastructure firms such as Globalvia and Metro de Bogotá – First Line. Carolina has also advised on the tax structuring of loyalty programs, mergers involving stock exchanges, and provided comprehensive counsel to nonprofit organizations, including NGOs and entities under the special tax regime.
