Profile

Since 2005, María Isabel Romero has focused her practice on corporate law, with strong expertise in corporate, commercial, and contract law. She has extensive experience advising both national and international clients across various economic sectors, including multinational conglomerates and family-owned businesses. Her work covers all legal aspects of business operations, as well as corporate and contractual matters related to mergers and acquisitions and capital markets transactions.

Experience

María Isabel Romero began her professional career in 2005 as an associate at a Colombian law firm. From 2008 to 2012, she served as Senior Counsel for Colombia, Venezuela, Central America, and the Caribbean at Dell Inc., and between 2012 and 2015, she led the Corporate Jurisdiction Group at the Superintendency of Companies. In 2015, she joined an international law firm as a senior associate, where she worked for six years until joining Pérez-Llorca in 2021, where she has been a partner since 2024.

Throughout her career, she has led corporate, business, and contractual advisory processes for major national and international companies across various sectors. Her clients have included Cemex, Primax Colombia, Prime Energía Termoflores, Honeywell, Mercado Libre, Pricesmart, and IGT, as well as corporate governance support for Efecty and Servientrega.
