Update on the Minimum Salary and Transportation/Connectivity Allowance for 2026

30/12/2025

Since negotiations between labor unions and employers’ associations failed to reach an agreement, the authority to determine the increase of the Statutory Monthly Minimum Salary (Salario Mínimo Mensual Legal Vigente – SMLMV) remained vested in the President of the Republic.

In exercise of such authority, through Decree No. 1469 dated December 29, 2025, a 23.5% increase was ordered, setting the SMLMV at COP 1,750,905 (approximately USD 473.21).

Likewise, pursuant to Decree No. 1470 dated December 29, 2025, the transportation or connectivity allowance was increased and set at COP 249,095 (approximately USD 67.32), resulting in a total monthly statutory minimum compensation of COP 2,000,000 (approximately USD 540.54).

Taking the foregoing into account, as of January 1, 2026, employers are required to adjust the salaries of employees earning the SMLMV. Consequently, the statutory integral minimum salary amounts to COP 22,761,765 (approximately USD 6,152).
