The transaction strengthens Intertek’s operational and technical footprint in the region and significantly broadens its electrical testing, inspection and certification service offering.
Intertek Group plc, through its Colombian subsidiary Intertek Colombia S.A. entered into an agreement to acquire 100% of the shares of QTEST S.A.S., a Colombian laboratory specializing in electrical testing, and QCERT S.A.S., a certification body for electrical and electronic products. The acquisition forms part of Intertek’s global growth strategy aimed at expanding its presence in Latin American markets, with particular focus on Colombia.
The transaction enables Intertek to strengthen its position in the Colombian market, expand its local and international client base, and enhance its ability to provide comprehensive testing and certification services in accordance with international standards. It also consolidates Intertek’s South American platform, reinforcing its standing in the conformity assessment sector and facilitating manufacturers’ access to global markets through internationally recognized certifications.
