Pérez-Llorca, Gómez-Pinzón represented Compañía Nacional de Chocolates S.A.S. in obtaining the registration of the mixed three-dimensional trademark JET, protecting one of Colombia’s most iconic chocolate bars.
The application faced oppositions from Comestibles Italo S.A. and Colombina S.A., which alleged that the mark lacked distinctiveness and that the shape was common in the chocolate bar market. The Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC) dismissed both oppositions as unfounded.
