Pérez-Llorca strengthens its Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice with the arrival of a new partner

13/01/2026

Pérez-Llorca announced the arrival of Felipe Suescún de Roa as a new partner in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice, as part of the firm’s strategy to strengthen and reinforce one of its key practices in Colombia.

Suescún de Roa has more than 20 years of professional experience, with a solid background in national and international arbitration, dispute resolution and business law. Throughout his career he has been involved in complex arbitrations in different jurisdictions, seats and under applicable laws, including Argentina, Colombia, France, Mexico, New York, Switzerland and the UNIDROIT Principles – mainly under the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and Bogotá Chamber of Commerce (CCB) Rules.

Suescún de Roa is widely recognised in Colombia and Latin America as a leader in his practice area by various rankings, guides, directories and independent publications, including Chambers and Partners, Legal 500, Latin Lawyer and Lexology, among others. He is a lawyer and specialist in Commercial Law from the Universidad de los Andes and holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Georgetown University. In addition to his extensive experience, he has lectured on obligations, civil liability and business law at the Universidad de los Andes. He has also taught arbitration and corporate law in courses at the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, the Universidad Nacional de Colombia and the Colombian Superintendency of Companies.

He is also the author of the book Tratado de Derecho de Daños en los Contratos published in 2025, and Deberes y Responsabilidad Civil de los Administradores de Sociedades in 2021, both published by Tirant lo Blanch, as well as numerous academic articles published in national and international specialist journals. He is a frequent speaker at seminars and conferences in Colombia and Latin America, and has been admitted as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) in London, the institution’s highest accreditation.

He was previously a foreign associate in the international arbitration group at the Washington D.C. office of a well-known international law firm.

“The arrival of Felipe as a partner significantly strengthens our Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice in Colombia. His experience in complex arbitrations and his track record in high-impact cases align with the firm’s vision of providing sophisticated advice on the most significant matters for our clients,” said Mauricio Piñeros, Country Chair Colombia of Pérez-Llorca, Gómez-Pinzón.

This move comes just days after Pérez-Llorca announced the appointment of 12 new partners and five counsels globally, including Colombian lawyers Paola Valderrama and María Camila Parra, confirming once again the firm’s growth and expansion in all its jurisdictions.
