GC ALERT | Minimum wages in force as of January 1, 2022

On December 1, 2021, the National Minimum Wage Commission published the update of the minimum wage in force as of January 1, 2022, which will be equivalent to the amount of $172.87 M.N. daily while, in the Northern Border Free Zone, it will increase to the amount of $260.34 M.N.

This increase represents an increase of 22% with respect to the minimum wage in force until December 31, 2021. If necessary, employers must carry out the following actions: (i) adjust the salaries of their employees so as not to be below of the minimums; (ii) update the minimum contribution base salary for the payment of social security contributions; and (iii) give notice to the Mexican Social Security Institute about said increases.
