Mariajosé has over four years of specialized experience advising clients throughout various project stages in highly regulated sectors, including energy (hydrocarbons and electricity), water, railway, and road infrastructure. She has also experience in administrative litigation and arbitration in these sectors.

  • Law degree (J.D. equivalent), Universidad Panamericana, Mexico City

Experience

She has experience advising developers, investors, government entities, and banks on the financing, development, and execution of energy and infrastructure projects, including negotiations of power purchase agreements (PPAs), restructurings, mergers and acquisitions of pipeline operators, waste-to-energy projects, and strategies for public bids in sectors such as public transportation, rail, maritime, and water. Additionally, Mariajosé has coordinated regulatory and corporate due diligence processes and has participated in cross participation proceedings before the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) and the Federal Economic Competition Commission (COFECE).

Mariajosé also has experience in litigation and arbitration, representing clients in amparo proceedings before federal, state, and municipal authorities in highly regulated sectors such as energy and technology, as well as in arbitration proceedings of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). Furthermore, she has provided in-house legal advice on the comprehensive development of photovoltaic power plants, covering the incorporation, financing, operation, corporate governance, and the sale of special purpose vehicles (SPVs).
