Profile
Cynthia is a lawyer specializing in mining, hydrocarbons and corporate law, with more than 18 years of experience advising local and foreign companies, as well as potential investors, on the development of infrastructure and natural resources projects in Peru. She combines a comprehensive business perspective with strong knowledge of the regulatory framework applicable to each sector. She holds a master’s degree in Energy and Environmental Law and, since 2019, has taught the Mining Law module at Universidad de Piura.

Experience
Her professional experience focuses on providing legal advice in mergers and acquisitions transactions, due diligence processes, contractual and regulatory matters, the prevention of contractual disputes, and arbitration related to infrastructure and natural resources projects. She has participated in the design, negotiation and execution of contracts related to mining activities, including investment agreements, streaming, royalties, processing agreements, contracts under the General Mining Law, asset purchase agreements, financing and trust agreements, and other related commercial and security agreements. She also has experience in transactions and contracts in the hydrocarbons sector, including license contracts, service contracts and joint operation agreements, as well as in obtaining the qualification of oil companies in Peru. Her experience in these sectors enables her to integrate the legal, regulatory and commercial analysis required for the structuring, acquisition, financing, operation and risk management of projects in highly regulated sectors. During her master’s studies, she also completed an international internship with ClientEarth’s climate change team in Brussels, Belgium.
