Profile

Pablo Sotomayor joined the firm in 2005 as an associate and has been a partner since 2014. His practice focuses on corporate tax advisory and planning, tax litigation, and customs and international trade matters.

• Executive Specialization Program in Accounting and Finance for Non-Specialists, ESAN (2006).
• Lawyer, Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (2003).

Experience

Pablo has extensive experience in business and company transfer and acquisition transactions across various industries, as well as in corporate reorganisations, financing and cross-border transactions. He also advises individuals and local and foreign companies on tax audit procedures and on contentious and non-contentious proceedings before the Tax Authority, the Tax Court and the Judiciary. Previously, he practised as an associate at a leading local law firm. He is a member of the Peruvian Institute of Tax Law (IPDT), the International Fiscal Association (IFA) and the tax affairs committees of the National Society of Mining, Petroleum and Energy and AMCHAM Peru.

Academic and Publishing Collaborations

He has served as a professor at the Faculty of Law of the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas since 2009. Additionally, he has been a professor at the Faculty of Law of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and at the University of Lima. He is a frequent speaker in various specialized forums on tax matters, both academic and corporate.
