The Agreement amends the information and documentation required for procedures such as obtaining or resuming an Employer Registration, the assignment or cancellation of the Unique Employer Registration (RPU), the assignment of the Electronic Employer Identification Number (NPIE) and its digital certificate, as well as the filing of workers’ affiliation-related notices.
It also requires individuals carrying out these procedures in person to verify their identity through valid official identification and provides that, once implemented, the biometric CURP will become the sole national means of official identification for such purposes. In addition, it reinforces representation requirements through powers of attorney or equivalent authorization documents and the presentation of an updated Employer Identification Card, while granting the IMSS authority to request additional information when necessary. The Agreement and its Sole Annex will enter into force fifteen business days following their publication.
