The three new partners are joining Pérez-Llorca, Miranda & Amado, along with a team comprising 13 associates, including lawyers and accountants.
In this regard, Pablo Sotomayor, a partner in the tax department at Pérez-Llorca, Miranda & Amado, stated that “the arrival of Paola, Ronald, Arturo and their entire team represents a very significant milestone in the firm’s growth. They are joining a well-established and highly specialised practice that already comprised eight lawyers, with the aim of complementing and expanding the services we provide, thereby strengthening our ability to support clients with all their tax needs.”
Arturo Tuesta has 34 years’ experience and is widely renowned for his track record as an adviser to Peru’s leading companies on M&A and wealth management transactions.
Paola’s practice focuses primarily on serving Wealth Management clients and advising companies in the infrastructure and energy sectors on tax compliance and audits.
Ronald is renowned for his tax advisory work for companies in the financial, property and agro-industrial sectors, as well as for his expertise in international taxation and in tax audits and litigation.
The three new partners join our partner Pablo Sotomayor, who has 25 years’ professional experience, 21 of which have been with the firm.
In a statement, Arturo Tuesta said: “The integration of our services with our tax practice and the firm’s other areas generates significant synergies. Not only will we continue to provide the services our clients and the firm’s clients have come to expect, with our usual high standards of quality and commitment, but we will also strengthen them through a more comprehensive legal analysis. To this end, we are developing new solutions to offer truly integrated services, with professionals who combine legal and tax expertise with a solid understanding of tax accounting, and moving towards our goal of establishing the strongest tax practice in the country.”
In this regard, Pablo Sotomayor added that “with this merger, the Tax practice at Pérez-Llorca, Miranda & Amado will have four partners and 20 associates in Peru, establishing itself as one of the largest in the country. By bringing accountants into the Tax practice, the firm is adopting a multidisciplinary model that broadens and strengthens our value proposition. This approach will enable us to offer clients comprehensive advice, expand the scope of our tax services and compete with a unique offering across all market segments.”
Paola Saavedra emphasised that “it is very meaningful to take on this new challenge as a partner in the Tax practice and to demonstrate that an accounting perspective brings a distinct and necessary viewpoint to comprehensive tax advice. This is a very special moment for our accounting team, which is enthusiastically embracing an innovative initiative in the Peruvian market that will enable us to work closely with the lawyers of a firm renowned for its excellence and culture of collaboration. This multidisciplinary model will pave the way for more accountants who wish to take on leadership roles in law firms.”
Lastly, Luis Miranda, Country Chair of Pérez-Llorca, Miranda & Amado, concluded: “This team’s arrival is a tangible demonstration of how our firm has been strengthened following the merger with Pérez-Llorca. We are welcoming leading professionals from the Peruvian market who complement our capabilities and consolidate an increasingly integrated platform with both local and international reach. This combination of talent, specialisation and scale enables us to offer a distinctive value proposition and support our clients in the most complex tax matters, both in Peru and in other jurisdictions.”
