Since beginning his professional career in 2008, Alejandro has focused his practice on international taxation and corporate finance advisory from a tax perspective. He is an expert in the structuring of financial instruments (equity, debt, derivatives, and hybrids), investment funds, and international tax advisory related to mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, private equity and project financing.

Experience
Alejandro has advised prominent local and international companies on tax structuring, corporate reorganizations, and tax planning across key sectors such as infrastructure, energy, and real estate investment. His experience includes advising on the reorganization of the investment in Terranum Corporate Properties (TCP), followed by the restructuring of Terranum and PEI Asset Management.
He has provided ongoing counsel to international banking institutions and energy companies on tax planning matters and led the design and implementation of Atlas Renewable Energy’s investment structure in Colombia and its strategic alliance with Isagen. Alejandro also advised on the tax structuring for Macquarie Capital’s acquisition of the Briceño-Tunja-Sogamoso highway concession agreement, and counseled Sierracol—a leading independent oil producer in Colombia—on a tax risk analysis arising from an asset purchase agreement involving exploration blocks previously held by CEPSA Colombia.
Academic Collaborations
Alejandro is a university professor with experience in teaching tax law, international taxation, and the fiscal structuring of financial instruments at institutions such as Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Universidad de los Andes, and Universidad del Rosario.
