William serves as Of Counsel of the Litigation & Conflict Resolution practice group. He has advised local and foreign companies for over 42 years in issues relating to complex commercial contracts, commercial distribution schemes, Colombian procedural law, and in general matters relating to business law. He has represented several companies in multiple proceedings before the ordinary jurisdiction and local arbitration tribunals in complex controversies.

Experience
William has been Of Counsel at the Firm since 2020, having previously served as a partner. Before joining Pérez-Llorca and Gómez-Pinzón, he was a partner at a renowned Colombian law firm specializing in arbitration and commercial law, and earlier worked as a senior associate at an international law firm with a presence in Colombia, where he gained extensive experience in corporate and commercial law. He began his career in the Colombian Judicial Branch, where he served as a magistrate’s assistant and senior clerk in civil circuit courts and at the Superior Court of Bogotá, which provided him with a deep understanding of the judicial system and civil and commercial proceedings.
In the Conflict Resolution area, he has participated in more than 75 arbitration proceedings conducted under the rules of the Chambers of Commerce of Bogotá, Medellín, and Pereira, with aggregate claims exceeding USD 2.5 billion. He has been a member of List A of arbitrators of the Arbitration Center of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce for more than ten years.
In Domestic Litigation, he has advised and represented companies in the pharmaceutical, consumer goods, automotive, and general trade and industry sectors in matters including class actions, group actions, distribution and agency claims, consumer law, and contractual and tort liability actions.
