Juan Luis Avendaño has been a partner at the firm since 2003. Experience
Juan Luis has led legal teams in more than 60 international offerings of debt instruments, hybrid securities and securitisations on behalf of leading Peruvian banks, companies and holding companies, totalling approximately USD 42 billion. He has been involved in financing structures for the acquisition of assets and companies in Peru and other countries of the Pacific Alliance, and regularly advises national and international banks, investment fund managers, mutual funds and brokerage firms. Previously, he worked as an international lawyer at Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle in New York, as Legal Manager at BankBoston Peru, and as an adviser to the Ministry of Economy and Finance and INDECOPI.
Academic Collaborations
He has taught various courses on Banking Law, Securities Markets and Business Financing at Pontificia Universidad Católica, Universidad de Lima and UPC.
