Natalia Martos, with over 15 years of experience in the legal sector, has spent most of her professional career in corporations and recently in a law firm. She has held the role of Chief Legal Officer at Prisa Noticias, General Counsel of Digital and Privacy at the Prisa Group, a company where she also worked as counsel for the General Secretariat, as well as General Counsel and Chief Privacy Officer at Tuenti, among other high-ranking positions. Last year, Martos was recognised by the The Legal 500’s GC Powerlist Iberia.
Martos’ career has focused on new technologies, copyright and data privacy law. Martos has completed a Master’s degree in Telecommunications Law at ICADE, the Advanced Programme on Copyright Law and Internet, TV and Entertainment Law at the IE Law School and the Executive Programme on exponential technologies offered by Singularity University in Silicon Valley.
In the words of José Ramón de Hoces, Partner and head of the Public Law area of the Firm Martos is joining, “the incorporation of Natalia as an expert in Data, Privacy and New Technologies is fundamental to the development of this area, which is increasingly requested by our clients. Her extensive experience in the private sector, both in companies and law firms, will undoubtedly boost this practice”.
Martos will be supporting the Firm’s venture capital, startups and innovation legal specialities, together with Corporate Partner, Pedro Fernandez. Fernández has affirmed that “clients in these areas increasingly require cross-cutting advice and therefore having a specialist in data protection and new technologies means that the service we can offer them will be more competitive and comprehensive”.
Her appointment is in addition to that of Norma Peña, who in March of this year, joined the Barcelona office as a Tax Partner in order to promote this practice in Barcelona.
