Profile
Félix J. Montero has extensive professional experience in litigation and arbitration. After several years as a practising lawyer, he joined Pérez-Llorca in July 2004 and became a partner in January 2008. Throughout his professional career, Felix’s litigation activity has focused on civil and commercial matters, both locally and internationally, as well as on domestic and international arbitration.

He speaks Spanish and English and also has knowledge of German and French.

Litigation
Felix has advised on civil and commercial litigation concerning inter alia, unfair competition, agency, distribution, international sale and purchase of goods, directors’ liability, challenges to corporate resolutions, horizontal property, insurance, energy, construction, real estate and corporate sales and purchases, patents, trademarks, sports law, tort law, recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments and awards.
Arbitration
Félix also has extensive experience in international and domestic, institutional and ad hoc arbitrations. In Spain, he has participated in major arbitrations administered by the Madrid Court of Arbitration (CAM), the Civil and Commercial Court of Arbitration (CIMA) and the Spanish Court of Arbitration (CEA) in relation to construction and mediation contracts, MBO transactions and corporate acquisitions, call options, land development, contract simulation, export credit insurance, energy, engineering and infrastructure construction, technology transfer and financial derivatives. Internationally, Felix has participated in major arbitrations administered by the Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the American Arbitration Association (AAA), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) and the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), mainly on international corporate law, international loan agreements, turnkey contracts for industrial facilities, civil works contracts, distribution, construction of telecommunications, energy, gas and oil infrastructures, administrative concessions and engineering.
Academic and Publishing Collaborations
Félix has teaching experience and has lectured on the following courses: (i) Procedural Law in the Master’s degree for Access to the Legal Profession at Instituto de Empresa; (ii) Procedural and Bankruptcy Law in the Master’s degree for Access to the Legal Profession at Instituto de Empresa at Universidad Carlos III (Madrid); and (iii) International Arbitration in the Advanced Programme in Arbitration Practice at IE Law School.
