Marta joined Pérez-Llorca in February 2026 and has a strong track record in academic and corporate settings in Germany, Italy, Belgium and Spain. She has extensive knowledge of the regulatory aspects of the data economy and a strategic understanding of the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on digital business models, which she has developed through her work as a legal adviser and through her research and teaching in the international academic sphere.

Marta specialises in intellectual property as it relates to technological and digital environments, AI regulation, data protection and data governance. She is a member of the Intellectual Property and Technology practice area, where she advises companies across various sectors on managing the regulatory impact of technology and AI on their business models, protecting their intangible assets, and ensuring compliance with data regulations.

In the field of intellectual property, her advice covers the legal protection of AI systems and models, including issues of authorship and ownership of works generated with the assistance of AI, the compatibility between open-source licences and intellectual property rights, as well as the negotiation and drafting of licence agreements, copyright assignment agreements and software development contracts.

In the field of data protection and AI regulation, she combines a thorough understanding of the relevant European legislation with a practical approach to risk identification and management. Her expertise in this field also includes a thorough understanding of the frameworks governing data sharing and monetisation.
