Profile

Beatriz García joined Pérez-Llorca in 2009 after working at the Madrid office of a prestigious Spanish firm. She was made partner at Pérez-Llorca in January 2018.

Studies:

  • 2006 Specialised in Competition Law, Universidad San Pablo-CEU
  • 2005 Degree in Law, Universidad San Pablo-CEU
  • 1999 Degree in English Philology, Universidad de Santiago de Compostela

She speaks Spanish, English and Galician.

Experience

Beatriz has over 17 years’ experience in the legal sector and is a partner at Pérez-Llorca, where she heads the firm’s Antitrust and Competition Litigation practice, with a particular focus on complex cross-jurisdictional matters and European Union law.

She began her career in the field of public procurement and administrative law, advising domestic and international clients on complex tender procedures and challenging administrative decisions. This period provided her with a solid foundation in public and administrative law, as well as a thorough understanding of the interplay between national and European regulations in sectors such as the automotive industry, agri-food, financial services, construction and aviation.

On this basis, Beatriz has developed extensive experience in highly complex damages litigation, having advised – and continuing to advise – on some of the most significant legal proceedings concerning liability for damages arising from breaches of competition law, both at national and cross-border level. She regularly represents clients before civil and administrative courts, as well as in proceedings before the Court of Justice of the European Union, and advises on complex disputes involving issues of European Union law and private international law, including those requiring the coordination of proceedings and strategies across different jurisdictions.

With extensive experience in coordinating cross-border teams and handling matters with significant international implications, Beatriz works closely with multidisciplinary teams and offices in different jurisdictions to design and implement coherent and efficient litigation strategies. Her approach focuses on gaining an in-depth understanding of clients’ business objectives, anticipating procedural risks, and making combined use of legal proceedings and negotiation mechanisms to protect their interests and achieve effective, long-lasting solutions.

Academic and Publishing Collaborations

Beatriz García regularly gives classes at various universities. She was a lecturer on public procurement in the Master’s Degree in Business Law at the University of Navarra and was a member of the ICADE Master’s Degree in Access to the Legal Profession.
