Profile
Felipe is a partner of the International Arbitration practice in the New York office. He has over 15 years of experience providing expert guidance to clients in investment planning, contract negotiation and dispute resolution at all stages. His practice focuses on disputes in the Americas.
Studies:
- 2013 Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Business Regulation, Litigation and Arbitration from New York University School of Law
- 2007 Law Degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (summa cum laude)
He speaks Spanish, English and Portuguese.
Experience
Felipe has experience in investment arbitration, US domestic arbitration, international commercial arbitration and litigation.
Prior to joining Pérez-Llorca, Felipe worked at two world-renowned law firms, and at one of Chile’s most distinguished law firms. His experience covers a broad spectrum of commercial litigation and arbitration in areas such as post-merger and acquisition adjustments, joint ventures, shareholder agreements, engineering, construction, mining and public concessions. He also advises investors and states on investment disputes, particularly in sectors related to energy, infrastructure, insurance, pensions and financial services.
Since 2023, Felipe has been a member of the register of international arbitrators of the Centro de Conciliación y Arbitraje, part of the Medellín Chamber of Commerce.
Felipe has a multicultural background, with legal studies covering civil and common law. He has been admitted to the bar in Chile and New York, is fluent in English and Spanish, and has successfully handled cases with significant elements in Portuguese.
