Javier joined Pérez-Llorca’s Insurance and Reinsurance team as an associate in 2025. Prior to this, he worked as a lawyer in prestigious national and international law firms, specialising in the regulation of the insurance sector. He is also accredited as an insurance distributor.

Experience

Javier has solid experience in providing corporate and regulatory advice to entities in the insurance sector. He has been involved in authorisation processes in Spain for new insurance companies and insurance distributors, as well as in the start-up of their activities in Spain and in other EU member states, both under the right of establishment and the freedom to provide services. He also has experience in adapting products and business models to Spanish and EU regulations. In addition, he has advised on the purchase and sale of insurance sector entities and the corresponding notification processes for acquisitions of significant shareholdings before the relevant regulatory authorities.
