Experience
Javier’s professional experience focuses on civil and commercial litigation before Spanish courts, as well as commercial and investment arbitration before the main international (ICC, ICSID, CIAM) and Spanish courts (CAM, CEA, CIMA).
Javier specialises in dispute resolution in cases of particular complexity and value, in contractual matters (including construction, engineering and energy projects and M&A transactions) and corporate matters (disputes between shareholders, challenging corporate resolutions and directors’ liability). He also advises on proceedings for the recognition, enforcement and annulment of arbitration awards, as well as on third-party funding transactions.
Javier is also an arbitrator and member of the Spanish and Ibero-American Arbitration Club, where he coordinates the club’s under 40 section (CEIA-40).
Academic and Publishing Collaborations
Javier has written several articles for legal journals and specialist publications. He also lectures on the Civil Litigation course for the bilingual Joint Master’s degree in Corporate Law and for Access to the Legal Profession (LL.M.) at IE Law School, and on the Arbitration course in the Master’s degree for Access to the Legal Profession at the Universidad de Navarra. In addition, he regularly participates as a moderator or speaker at conferences and seminars on these matters.
