João joined Pérez-Llorca in 2023 as a lawyer in the Banking and Finance and Capital Markets practice area, in the Lisbon office. Prior to joining Pérez-Llorca, he was a member of the Banking and Finance team of a Portuguese law firm. João focuses his practice on financing transactions and debt capital market transactions.

He is fluent in Portuguese and English.
Experience
João has accumulated experience in advising national and international clients on all types of financing transaction, including acquisition finance, real estate finance, project finance and corporate finance, as well as on refinancing transactions, debt restructurings and secondary market transactions. His experience includes advising banks and alternative lenders, debtors and issuers, working across the structuring, due diligence, negotiation and closing stages of transactions.
João also advises investment funds, management entities and financial institutions on the incorporation, licensing, and sale of qualifying holdings, and assists clients on supervisory matters on a regular basis.
Academic and Publishing Collaborations
João was a teaching assistant at the Católica Lisbon School of Law between 2020 and 2023, where he taught subjects on Contract Law and Civil Law. Currently, he is a teaching assistant at the Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics where he teaches Economics and Business Law.
