Jorge Walser joined Pérez-Llorca in April 2020. Before joining the firm, he worked for seven years as a Jorge joined Pérez-Llorca in April 2020. Before joining the firm, he spent seven years working as a lawyer at prestigious criminal law firms.

Jorge has been practising in the field of criminal law since 2012. His practice encompasses the criminal defence of companies and executives before the main Spanish criminal courts, the conduct of complex internal investigations – including matters with a cross-border dimension and coordination with teams and authorities from various jurisdictions – and advice on criminal compliance matters. He is part of the firm’s French Desk, where he advises on matters with implications in French-speaking jurisdictions.
A significant part of his practice focuses on advising on European Union restrictive measures and their impact on business operations. He advises companies in the industrial, energy, financial and distribution sectors on the compliance risks arising from various sanctions regimes, the implications of potential non-compliance, and the mitigation strategies applicable in each case. He has been involved in corporate transactions where one of the parties was subject to restrictive measures, analysing the legal implications and identifying appropriate safeguards for the client.
He also advises on the design and implementation of criminal compliance programmes, on criminal risk assessments in the context of M&A processes, and on the implementation of Law 2/2023 on the protection of whistleblowers.
Academic and Publishing Collaborations
He is the author of specialist publications for leading legal publishers, including Tirant lo Blanch, Aranzadi Thomson Reuters and La Ley. His most recent work focuses on the criminalisation of the European Union’s restrictive measures, Spanish legislation on the protection of whistleblowers, and the criminal liability of legal persons. He regularly speaks at specialist events on international sanctions, criminal compliance and corporate criminal liability. He has been invited to speak as a panellist at events organised by the European Criminal Bar Association (ECBA).
