Profile

Manuel joins Pérez-Llorca as a Litigation and Arbitration partner in the Lisbon office. He has 20 years of experience advising national and international companies, financial and insurance entities, as well as private equity funds in their national and cross-border litigation and arbitration in Portugal and in different Portuguese-speaking countries.

Studies:

• 2014 Postgraduate degree in Economic Criminal Law, Faculty of Law, Universidade de Coimbra
• 2013 Postgraduate degree in Arbitration, Faculty of Law, Universidade NOVA de Lisboa
• 2005 Degree in Law, Faculty of Law, Universidade Católica Portuguesa

He speaks Portuguese, English and Spanish.

Experience

Manuel’s practice has centred on civil and commercial litigation, in particular advising companies on a wide range of commercial disputes, including shareholdings and mergers and acquisitions. He also advises clients on criminal and regulatory litigation and on compliance issues, such as the fight against corruption and money laundering. In addition, he has extensive experience in contentious and non-contentious restructuring and insolvency matters.

Manuel participates as a speaker at conferences on arbitration, litigation and corporate law and is also the author of a series of publications:
