Profile

Sofia joined Pérez-Llorca in Lisbon in 2025 as a senior associate in the Competition, European Union and Regulation practice.

Before that, she was a member of the Competition and EU department of another international law firm, and also worked in the Competition and EU department of a Tier 1 Portuguese firm in this practice area. Throughout her career she has also worked for prestigious companies – one national and one multinational – where she provided services as an in-house lawyer.

Experience

Sofia specialises in competition law and has worked in this area since she started her career. She advises national and international clients on complex competition law issues, particularly with regard to antitrust and merger control proceedings, in various sectors such as the automotive, FMCG, security, advertising, banking, energy and pharmaceutical industries. Her work includes representing clients in sanctioning proceedings before the Competition Authority and the Competition, Supervision and Regulation Court, advising on complex transactions, supporting the structuring of distribution systems and others, as well as developing and implementing competition compliance programmes.

Given her professional background, Sofia also has extensive experience in the field of contracts and Consumer Law, advising her clients on day-to-day issues for their companies, such as drafting, analysing and negotiating commercial contracts, including distribution, supply, provision of services, protocols, advertising, etc.
