Teresa Madeira Afonso is a partner at Pérez-Llorca in the M&A, private equity and real estate areas, in the Lisbon office.
Teresa has around 20 years of professional experience in national and international law firms and, before joining Pérez-Llorca, she was co-coordinating partner of the Real Estate and Tourism practice of a Portuguese law firm.

Experience
Teresa focuses on advising domestic and international clients, including private equity funds, institutional investors and family offices, and she has in-depth experience in advising new entrants to the Portuguese real estate market.
Her experience covers a wide range of real estate assets, particularly in the hospitality, retail and logistics sectors. She is also particularly well-versed in agribusiness transactions.
Teresa focuses her practice on real estate transactions, with a strong emphasis on corporate real estate transactions. She assists real estate developers in the development of large projects (greenfield and brownfield) and has extensive experience in advising on commercial real estate contracts such as commercial leases and hotel management agreements. She is also highly experienced in private equity within the real estate sector, including advising on the negotiation of joint ventures and strategic alliances. In addition, she advises on major corporate restructuring, insolvency and corporate recovery processes. Furthermore, she advises on financing and loan-to-own transactions in the real estate sector.
