Pérez-Llorca will host a session on Collaborative Economy and Fostering Free Competition on the Market on 19 January, which is organized by the Spanish Association for Defence of Competition (AEDC).
The session will begin at 14:25, after registration and a quick snack, with a presentation by Salomé Santos Lorenzo, Antitrust and Compliance Manager for Continental Europe, Associated British Foods plc. Santos will give the floor to Antonio Maudes Gutiérrez, Director of the Department for Fostering of Competition at the National Commission for Markets and Competition (CNMC), who will talk about the Public Consultation, CNMC’s point of view and the preliminary results.
Next up will be Oriol Armengol, Partner of Competition at Pérez-Llorca, who will address legal questions raised by the collaborative economy itself. He will also comment the Order of Commercial Court no. 2 of Madrid provisionally prohibiting UBER’s activity. Thomas Funke, Partner of OSBORNE CLARKE in Germany, will speak next. He will explain his presentation ‘Sharing economy and competition policy. Observations from a German and European perspective’.
The session will continue with a presentation by Ramón Estalella, Secretary General of the Spanish Confederation of Hotels and Tourist Accommodation (CEHAT), on the view of the phenomenon from the perspective of the sector on hotels and tourist accommodations.
Ángel Mesado, Director for Institutional Relations at Airbnb, will give the last talk, in which he will discuss Airbnb’s perspective. The session will conclude at 16:35 after looking back on the main points of the workshop to reach conclusions and a round of questions.
The workshop will take place at Pérez-Llorca’s headquarters on Paseo de la Castellana, 50 in Madrid.
