Santabaya joins the Litigation and Arbitration practice area alongside Jordi Gras, who was named partner of this practice area in the Barcelona office in July

Pérez-Llorca has named Ignacio Santabaya as a new partner of the firm’s Litigation and Arbitration practice area. With nearly 20 years of experience, Santabaya has built his career in renowned international firms where he has advised clients from both Spain and abroad, in diverse sectors including construction, finance, pharmaceutical, energy, industrial, hospitality, gaming and the Internet.

His prior work has focused on civil, insolvency and contentious-administrative proceedings before various Spanish courts, including the Supreme Court, and on national and international arbitration, before courts such as the ICC and the ICSID.

With a degree in Law from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and a Master’s degree in Financial Markets and Stock Exchange from the Instituto de Estudios Bursátiles, he also studied the Advanced Insolvency and Corporate Law Programme taught at the IE Law School.

Santabaya is recognised as a Future Leader by the Who’s Who Legal international directory for the areas of ‘Arbitration’ and ‘Construction’; he is also included in Best Lawyers as one of the most prominent lawyers in the areas of ‘Arbitration & Mediation’ and ‘International Arbitration’. On the educational side, his collaboration with the IE Law School, as an assistant lecturer on the Advocacy course for this institution’s Law degree, is particularly noteworthy.
