Pérez-Llorca continues to consolidate its presence in the Portuguese market with the appointment of Joana Alves de Abreu as Energy counsel for the Lisbon office, who joins a team of partners and lawyers specialising in this area.
Joana Alves de Abreu has over 15 years of experience advising domestic and international companies on energy matters, with a special focus on the regulation of the electricity sector and supporting M&A and project finance transactions. Prior to joining Pérez-Llorca, Joana worked in some of the most reputable Portuguese law firms, was a lawyer within the legal department of the Portuguese Energy Services Regulatory Authority and served as an advisor to the Secretary of State for Energy in the 19th and 20th Constitutional Governments.
Joana Alves de Abreu also holds a Master’s degree in Administrative Law – Energy from the Law Faculty of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (Lisbon School) and attended the Evolution of Electricity Markets in Europe course at the Florence School of Regulation.
