Profile
Javier joined Pérez-Llorca’s Corporate practice area in 2022. He was previously a partner in the commercial practice of the Madrid office of a Big Four firm. His experience prior to this includes working for another Big Four professional services firm, as well as in Magic Circle firms, and he was part of the team that founded the Barcelona office of one such firm.

He speaks Spanish, English and French.
Experience
Javier specialises in private equity transactions in the healthcare, infrastructure and energy and financial sectors. He has 17 years of experience advising domestic and foreign clients on transactional matters, particularly in M&A, joint ventures and carve-outs, with a special focus on private equity. In addition, Javier participated in a secondment programme in the investment banking department at Nomura (London).
He has extensive experience in commercial and business law, particularly in transactions (mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and investments, both inbound and outbound) and commercial contracts.
Academic and publishing collaborations
On the academic side, he is currently an associate lecturer at IE Law School, teaching a module on the Executive Programme in Corporate Law. Prior to this, he taught a module on Private M&A: Acquisitions and Joint Ventures at ESADE Law School – Ramón Llull University for nine years.
